Versa Cardio, Inc. ("Versa Cardio," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding personal information in connection with our cardiac monitoring and related services, website, patient and customer communications, billing activities, and business operations.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we collect through our website, over the telephone, through text messaging, from patients and customers, and in connection with services we provide to physicians, medical groups, hospitals, health plans, and other healthcare organizations.

Some health information we maintain may be protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other healthcare privacy laws. Where a HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices applies, that notice governs our use and disclosure of protected health information. This website Privacy Policy supplements, but does not replace, any applicable Notice of Privacy Practices.

  • Business contact information: professional contact and organizational information for physicians, medical practices, hospitals, vendors, and other business partners.

We seek to collect only the information reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and as permitted or required by law.

3. Sources of personal information

We may obtain personal information:

  • Directly from you or your authorized representative;
  • From your physician, medical practice, hospital, or other healthcare provider;
  • From health insurers, health plans, claims administrators, and other payers;
  • From communications and interactions with our website and services; and
  • From service providers acting on our behalf and other sources permitted by law.

4. How we use personal information

We may use personal information to:

  • Provide, coordinate, administer, and support ECG cardiac monitoring and related diagnostic services;

  • Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, audit, and improve our website, systems, services, and operations;
  • Prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents, and unlawful activity; and
  • Comply with legal, regulatory, accreditation, recordkeeping, and reporting obligations and protect our legal rights.

5. How and with whom we disclose personal information

Versa Cardio does not sell or rent personal information. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own independent marketing or promotional purposes.

We may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary and permitted by law to:

  • Healthcare providers: ordering, referring, treating, and consulting physicians and other authorized healthcare professionals or organizations involved in your care;
  • Insurers and payers: health plans, insurers, claims administrators, and other payers for eligibility, authorization, claims, payment, audit, and related healthcare operations;

  • Governmental, regulatory, and legal recipients: when required or permitted by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, legal process, audit, or to protect the safety, rights, property, or security of patients, the public, Versa Cardio, or others; and
  • Business transaction participants: professional advisers and parties involved in a proposed or completed merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

When applicable, we limit disclosures to the minimum information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

6. SMS and text-message privacy

If you provide a mobile telephone number and consent to text messaging, Versa Cardio may use that number to send service-related communications such as enrollment or setup information, device or monitoring updates, appointment or status reminders, customer-support messages, billing notices, insurance-related notices, and account-balance information.

Our SMS privacy commitment

SMS consent is not shared with third parties or affiliates.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or provide mobile telephone numbers or SMS opt-in information to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from all other data-sharing provisions in this Privacy Policy and will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates.

Companies that provide the technical infrastructure needed to transmit our messages may process mobile information solely to provide communications services to Versa Cardio. They are not permitted to use that information for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP. For assistance, reply HELP or contact us using the information below. Opting out of SMS does not prevent us from contacting you through other lawful methods when necessary to provide services, administer your account, or comply with legal obligations.

Text messaging may not be fully secure. Please do not send sensitive medical, financial, or account information by text unless specifically requested through an authorized process. In an emergency, call 911; do not rely on text messaging to request emergency medical assistance.

7. Health information and HIPAA

Versa Cardio uses and discloses protected health information only as permitted by applicable law and contractual obligations. This may include uses and disclosures for treatment, payment, healthcare operations, public health and safety activities, oversight, legal requirements, and other purposes authorized or required by law.

Where required, healthcare vendors that handle protected health information on our behalf are contractually obligated to safeguard it. To request information about rights that may apply to your protected health information—including access, amendment, restriction, confidential communications, or an accounting of certain disclosures—please contact us as described below.

8. Information security and retention

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, administer patient and customer accounts, meet clinical and business needs, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with healthcare, billing, tax, legal, contractual, and record-retention obligations. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely dispose of it in accordance with applicable requirements.

9. Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on the information involved and applicable law, you may have the right to request access to or correction of certain personal information, ask questions about our privacy practices, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, or request other available privacy rights.

You may unsubscribe from text messages by replying STOP. You may also manage browser cookies through your browser settings. Certain information may need to be retained or used despite a request when required for healthcare, billing, legal, security, or recordkeeping purposes.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right available under applicable law.

10. Website, cookies, and external links

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies needed for functionality, security, performance, and understanding website usage. You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies, but doing so may affect certain website features.

Our website may contain links to websites or services operated by others. Versa Cardio is not responsible for the privacy, security, or content practices of third-party websites. We encourage you to review their privacy notices before providing information.

Our public website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13 without appropriate authorization.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
